The plan is updated every five years to help the borough and local partners remain eligible for Human Services Transportation Grant funding through the Alaska Community Transit Office. The 2026 draft updates earlier planning with current demographic, transportation and ridership data, information about local service providers, public survey results and project priorities, according to the announcement.
The coalition said publishing the plan will maintain local transportation providers' eligibility for grant funding through 2031.
The Juneau Coordinated Transportation Coalition includes government, social service and nonprofit partners working to improve transportation in Juneau. Its partners coordinate services for older adults, people with disabilities and people with lower incomes.
