The cost for general participants is $250, but those who apply for employment as a Juneau Pools lifeguard before the start of the class can attend for free. Both Dimond Park Aquatic Center and Augustus G. Brown Swimming Pool are currently hiring lifeguards for full- and part-time positions with various shifts available.

The class has a maximum capacity of 10 people and requires certain prerequisites to be met before attending.
