KODIAK, Alaska - AkGlobe -- HDOnTap, in partnership with Alaska Geographic, Friends of Alaska National Wildlife Refuges, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service's Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge and the Alaska Department of Fish & Game, announces the return of the Kodiak Alaska Brown Bears Live Webcam for the 2026 salmon season.
The live PTZ camera is mounted above the Dog Salmon River next to the salmon ladder near Frazer Lake, giving viewers a real-time look at a large stretch of river where Kodiak brown bears may be seen searching for salmon. The stream is live now and is expected to run from June 17 through the end of salmon season.
Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge is known for remote wildlands, abundant fish and wildlife, and opportunities to observe Kodiak brown bear activity during the summer. The webcam site is along the Dog Salmon River near Frazer Lake, within the refuge, and near a salmon weir managed by the Alaska Department of Fish & Game.
Viewers can expect changing river conditions, salmon movement and seasonal bear behavior as the run develops. Because wildlife activity varies by weather, river levels and salmon presence, viewers are encouraged to check back throughout the day and season for the best chance to see bears fishing, walking the river corridor or moving through the area.
