Over the 14-day period from January 4 to January 17, there were 42 people in Juneau who tested positive for COVID-19 (that's up from 29 during the previous two weeks):
The disease continues to move across all disease acquisition types: secondary transmission, travel, and community spread. Residents are cautioned to strictly adhere to all health orders related to travel and to continue strict adherence to masking and social distancing when outside your immediate home.

On January 15-17, the City and Borough of Juneau, Bartlett Regional Hospital, and Juneau Public Health Center held a COVID-19 vaccine clinic for residents age 65 and older and health care workers, and administered 1,182 vaccine doses.

- There was no reported case activity associated with a cluster.
- Public Health attributed 34 percent of cases to secondary transmission, 24.5 percent to out-of-state travel, 19.5 percent to community spread, and 22 percent of the cases remain under investigation.
- 90 percent of cases were contacted for contact tracing within 24 hours of a positive test being returned.
- Disease spread was across all age groups, most racial groups (the category of individuals who self-identify as white is highest with 21), and was slightly more prevalent in males than females (54 percent/46 percent)
