~ Juneau Water Utility Begins Flushing Water Distribution System

The City and Borough of Juneau Water Utility has announced that they will begin flushing the water distribution system this week. The work is scheduled to start in the downtown area and will continue north to the hospital, then cross over to Douglas, proceed to Lemon Creek, and finally reach the Valley and Tee Harbor areas. This process is expected to take place over the next two months.

According to officials, the flushing will occur between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a tentative completion date of October 31. Customers may experience water discoloration or minor disruptions in service during this time. To clear any discoloration, residents are advised to wait until the work crew has left the area and then run their cold water tap until it runs clear.
