Juneau: Registration for youth springboard diving lessons opens February 21

~ Juneau Pools, a popular swimming facility in the city, has announced that they will be offering introductory springboard diving lessons for young swimmers at the Dimond Park Aquatic Center in March. Aspiring divers between the ages of 6 and 11 can register for the class online starting Friday, February 21 at noon.

The class will run from March 4 to March 20 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 7:45 p.m. The cost for the course is $72 plus tax. This introductory class is specifically designed for children with little to no prior diving experience. It aims to teach participants proper diving techniques such as approach, takeoff, flight, and entry. The main focus of the class will be on building confidence and mastering basic dives.

Interested individuals should note that a swim test will be conducted on the first day of class. The test includes treading water for 30 seconds and swimming continuously for 25 yards (one pool length).
