- Juneau: Registration for Start Smart Soccer opens June 23
~ Juneau Pools, a popular swimming facility in the city, has announced that they will be offering a new session of swim lessons in all categories starting in January 2025. The categories include preschool, youth, adult, and Parent & Tot. Registration for these lessons will open on Tuesday, December 31 at noon through the Parks & Rec registration catalog. Interested individuals can access the registration by clicking on the "Juneau Pools" tab. It is important to note that registrations will not be accepted over the phone, in person, or in advance.
For those who may need financial assistance, scholarships are available. To apply for a scholarship, individuals must complete an online form by Friday, December 27 at noon.
The Parent & Tot lessons are designed for children between the ages of 6 months and 3 years and will take place at Dimond Park Aquatic Center from January 11 to March 1 (with no class on January 25). Classes will be held every Saturday from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. The cost for this session is $60 plus tax.

Adult lessons are also being offered at Augustus G. Brown Swimming Pool for individuals aged 13 and up. The classes will run from January 13 to February 3 (with no class on January 20) and will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. The cost for this session is $72 plus tax.
Both DPAC and AGB will offer preschool (ages 3-5) and youth (ages 6-12) lessons at a cost of $80 plus tax. DPAC will have classes for Youth Levels 1-4 and Preschool Levels 1-4 from January 14 to February 6 on Tuesdays and Thursdays between the hours of 4:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. AGB will offer Youth Levels 1-4 and Preschool Levels 1-3 from January 13 to February 10 (with no class on January 20) on Mondays and Wednesdays between the hours of 4:15 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. A detailed schedule can be found in the registration catalog.
It is important to note that swimmers must meet certain prerequisites in order to register for classes beyond Level 1. This includes attending a Juneau Pools swim lesson placement session or passing the preceding class within the last six months.
