~ Juneau Pools, a popular swimming facility in the city, has announced that they will be offering Preschool and Youth swim lessons this summer at both Dimond Park Aquatic Center and Augustus G. Brown Swimming Pool. The lessons are set to begin on June 2 and registration will open on Friday, May 9 at noon.
Interested individuals can register online through the Parks & Rec catalog by clicking on the "Juneau Pools" tab. It is important to note that registration will not be accepted over the phone, in person, or in advance.
The lesson sessions at Dimond Park Aquatic Center will take place four mornings a week for two weeks, while lessons at Augustus G. Brown Swimming Pool will take place two evenings a week for two weeks. Each lesson session will last for 30 minutes and cost $80 plus tax. However, scholarships are available for those who may need financial assistance. To apply for a scholarship, interested individuals must complete the form at bit.ly/ZGYCscholarship by Wednesday, May 7 at noon.
At Dimond Park Aquatic Center, swim lessons will be held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with class start times available between 8:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. The first session will run from June 2 to June 12 and include Preschool Levels 1-4 and Youth Levels 1-4. The second session will run from June 23 to July 3 and include Preschool Levels 1-3 and Youth Levels 1-4.

It is important for parents to note that Preschool classes are open to children ages 3-5 and Youth classes are open to children ages 6-12. Additionally, swimmers must meet the registration prerequisites to register for any classes beyond Level 1. This means that swimmers who have not attended a Juneau Pools swim lesson placement session or passed the preceding class within the last six months will not be able to register for upper level classes.
