The City and Borough of Juneau is currently seeking applicants for the Planning Commission and the Bartlett Regional Hospital Board. Applications must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, November 30. In an effort to diversify membership on CBJ boards and commissions, and to bring in a wide range of viewpoints and life experiences, the Juneau Assembly encourages all community members who have the time and interest to submit an application. Apply here.
Applicants for the Planning Commission and Hospital Board will be sent interview questions. Those who return the questions will be scheduled for a 10-minute interview with the full Assembly sitting as the Human Resources Committee, tentatively scheduled for mid-December.
The nine-member Planning Commission reviews and updates the Comprehensive Plan and Capital Improvement Program, as well as city and state projects. The Commission also reviews private and public development plans for compliance with adopted codes and plans, and functions as the Board of Adjustment in reviewing variances and code interpretations. Meetings are scheduled on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. There are three open seats.
