AkGlobe News/10079338

"At the beginning of the distance-education, I felt really uncomfortable and totally out of my zone, but now I feel like I know so much more about my students, about their families, about their home life. It's every teacher's dream to have a really healthy partnership with parents."

Hannah O'Daniel is a first grade teacher at Riverbend Elementary School. This was her first year teaching. Hannah grew up in Skagway where her family has resided since the Gold Rush days. She's one of the first members of her family to leave Skagway.

As the school year wraps up, CBJ would like to thank everybody – students, teachers, parents, Juneau School District, and the broader community – for their flexibility and patience.stats
