~ The City and Borough of Juneau, Alaska will be holding a public hearing on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 7 p.m. for several items on the agenda. The meeting will take place in the Assembly Chambers and will also be available for remote participation via Zoom webinar.
According to the notice released by the city, the public may participate in-person or through the Zoom webinar. However, due to time constraints, testimony time will be limited by the Mayor based on the number of participants. Those who wish to provide oral testimony remotely must notify the Municipal Clerk by 4 p.m. on the day of the meeting and indicate which topics they wish to speak about. For those attending in-person, a sign-up sheet will be available at the back of the Chambers.
The public is encouraged to send their comments in advance of the meeting to ensure that their voices are heard. The agenda and packet material for the meetings will be posted on the CBJ website by close of business on the business day prior to the meetings.

During this public hearing, four ordinances will be discussed: Ordinance 2024-09 which proposes amendments to parking notice requirements and penalties related to parking violations; Ordinance 2024-11 which authorizes negotiations for a lease of Alaska Tidelands Survey No. 750 for waterfront commercial activities; Ordinance 2024-12 which authorizes negotiations for a lease of Alaska Tidelands Survey No. 842 Tracts A&B also for waterfront commercial activities; and Ordinance 2024-23 which proposes amendments to ordinance formatting requirements.
For those who require ADA accommodations, such as closed captioning or sign language interpreter services, please contact the Clerk's office at least 36 hours prior to any meeting. The Clerk's office can be reached at (907)586-5278 or via email.
