Trending...
~ According to a recent press release, Mendenhall Lake reached its peak at 10.77 feet around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 20. The water levels in both the lake and the river are now rapidly decreasing. Fortunately, minimal damage was reported in residential neighborhoods.

However, authorities are urging the public to continue avoiding the Mendenhall River due to unstable banks and debris from the flood. The affected areas, including View Drive, Skater's Cabin Road, Kaxdigoowu HĂ©en Dei (Brotherhood Bridge Trail), and the Dimond Park pedestrian bridge, are expected to be reopened soon.
