~ On Friday, March 3, Capital City/Fire Rescue responded to a fire at Glacier View Trailer Court that resulted in one fatality, one injury, and total structural loss. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

At 10:40 a.m., Capital City Fire/Rescue arrived on scene to find heavy fire and bystanders attempting to enter the structure for a rescue effort. Fire crews made initial entry for fire attack and rescue and discovered a deceased individual inside the structure. The individual was removed from the structure and fire crews transitioned to a defensive fire attack. After reestablishing the water supply due to heavy snow covering the hydrant, crews reentered the structure and finished extinguishing the fire.

One individual was transported to Bartlett Hospital for treatment of burn injuries while two dogs were found deceased. Juneau Police Department is still on scene working with the Fire Marshal to investigate the cause of the fire. No firefighter injuries were reported as firefighters from across the borough responded to the scene.
