- Youth Co ~ Juneau, Alaska- The Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation (CARES) has once again joined forces with Treadwell Arena for a charitable cause. This partnership aims to raise funds for CARES Foundation's cancer research and Juneau's Cancer Connection, a local non-profit organization that supports Alaskans living with cancer.
On September 14th and 15th, Treadwell Arena will be hosting a series of events to encourage community participation in this fundraising effort. These events include the Youth Co-Ed 3v3 Hockey tournament on both days from 12:30 pm to 6 pm and 9:15 am to 12:45 pm respectively. Additionally, the Remembrance Walk, presented by the Aurora Integrated Oncology Foundation and Southeast Radiation Oncology, will take place on Saturday at 12 pm. The arena will also be open for an Open Skate session on Sunday from 1 pm to 2:30 pm.

All events, including the Remembrance Walk, will take place at Treadwell Arena. Interested individuals are required to register beforehand at fundraise.scottcares.org/juneau to participate in any of the events. While walk-up registration is available for some events, it is important to note that teams participating in the youth hockey tournament must register by Tuesday, September 10th.
The registration fees collected from these events will go towards supporting CARES' national cancer research and Cancer Connection's travel assistance program. This program provides financial grants for expenses related to cancer care services outside Southeast Alaska. By participating in these events, individuals can make a meaningful contribution towards fighting cancer while also enjoying some fun activities at Treadwell Arena.
