~ A public meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 21 at 6 p.m. in the Valley Library to discuss the future of Jackie Renninger Park, also known as Pipeline Skate Park. The meeting is being organized by CBJ Parks & Recreation and Corvus Design.
The Pipeline Skate Park, located within Jackie Renninger Park, is in need of structural and safety improvements. In light of this, Parks & Rec has decided to take this opportunity to gather input from the community on what additional features could be added to better serve the needs of local residents.
The meeting will include presentations and a Q&A session, but the highlight will be a hands-on activity where attendees can design their ideal park using a large site plan and scaled cut-outs of essential park elements. This unique opportunity allows park users and neighborhood residents to visualize their ideas and consider how additions such as sports courts or picnic shelters could complement the skating areas that are crucial to the park.

In addition to discussing potential improvements, CBJ and Corvus will also share the results of last year's community survey about the park and a Neighborhood Park Assessment.
For younger participants, Parks & Rec will hold a separate gathering on Wednesday, May 22 at 5:30 p.m. at the Zach Gordon Youth Center. Professional skateboarder Kanten Russell from New Line Skateparks will join this meeting remotely to discuss current trends in skate park design.
Those interested in attending or learning more about this project can contact Parks & Recreation at (907) 576-5226. This is an important opportunity for community members to have their voices heard and help shape the future of Jackie Renninger Park.
