~ Residents of the City and Borough of Juneau have until this Sunday, September 3, to register to vote or update their address for the October 3, 2023 Regular Municipal Election. Those who are 18 years old by Election Day are eligible to participate in the election.
The election is being conducted as a By Mail Election, with ballots being mailed out on September 14 to registered CBJ voters. Voters can return their ballot by mail, at a secure drop box, or at one of two Vote Centers located at City Hall Assembly Chambers (155 S. Seward St.) and Mendenhall Valley Public Library (3025 Dimond Park Loop). The Vote Centers will be open from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. weekdays from September 18 to October 2 and 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m on Election Day, October 3; the Mendenhall Valley Public Library will also be open Saturdays from 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m on September 23 and 30th in addition to its weekday hours.
Those who will be absent from their voting address during this time can apply for either a ballot sent to a temporary address or an E-Ballot; applications for both must be received by the Clerk's Office no later than 5:00 p.m AKST Monday, October 2 for E-Ballots and Tuesday, September 26 for temporary addresses respectively; ballots returned through the mail must be legibly postmarked no later than Election Day and received by the Clerk's Office no later than the beginning of the Canvass Review Board process on Monday, October 16th; E-Ballots must arrive by 8:00 p.m AKST on Election Day, Tuesday, October 3rd .

ADA and HAVA (Help America Vote Act)-compliant voting machines will also be available at Vote Centers starting September 18 through Election Day for those who need accessible voting options; these machines allow users to vote with an audio ballot and/or a tactile interface and are available to all registered voters; Special Needs Voting ballots are also available starting Monday, September 18 at both Vote Centers which must be returned by 8:00 p.m AKST on Election Day .
