Juneau: Hank Harmon Public Range Ribbon Cutting and Grand Reopening

~ Juneau Parks & Recreation has announced two special events to celebrate the recent upgrades at the Hank Harmon Public Range. The community is invited to join in on the festivities, which will showcase the improvements made to this valued community space.

The first event, a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, will take place on Friday, September 26 at 12 p.m. at the range. This milestone event will feature speeches from various officials including representatives from CBJ, the Alaska Department of Fish & Game, and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. These partners played a crucial role in making these upgrades possible. The enhancements focus on improving safety and accessibility while also modernizing the range.

The celebrations will continue with a Grand Reopening on Saturday, September 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Families and community members are encouraged to attend and enjoy free BBQ, explore booths from local businesses and partners, and watch live demonstrations such as trick shots, a cowboy action demo, and steel plate shooting with the Juneau Rifle & Pistol Club.

Both events will be held at the Hank Harmon Public Range located at 6200–5866 Montana Creek Rd in Juneau, AK 99801. Earplugs will be provided for attendees and eye protection will be available on the firing line.
