~ The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Mendenhall Lake and River in Juneau, Alaska. This warning comes after a glacier-dammed lake outburst, causing potential danger to those in the area. The public is advised to avoid the Mendenhall River until further notice for their own safety and the safety of others.

According to the forecast, the Mendenhall River is expected to reach a crest between 11 and 11.5 feet on Monday, October 21, between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Residents living near the river are urged to closely monitor conditions and take necessary precautions.
