~ The City Hall Assembly Chambers will be buzzing with activity on Monday, February 3 at 7 p.m. as the Regular Assembly Meeting takes place. The meeting, which is open to the public, will include a public hearing on the proposed ordinance to establish a Local Improvement District (LID) for the HESCO barrier flood mitigation project.
Residents living in the LID area are reminded that this hearing marks the final deadline to voice any objections to the proposed LID. All objections must be submitted in writing, either on paper or electronically, to the Clerk's office. It is important to note that even if a resident testifies at the meeting, they must still submit a written objection for their vote to be counted.
The agenda packet for the meeting can be found at juneau-ak.municodemeetings.com/bc-assembly/page/regular-assembly-meeting-2025-03. Any objections received by 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 30 have been included in the agenda packet under item O-22 for review by the Assembly. The Clerk's office has also acknowledged all objections received via email with a reply email. If a resident submitted an objection before 2 p.m. on Thursday and has not received a reply or does not see their objection in the packet, they are advised to contact the Clerk's office immediately.

Additional objections received by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, February 3 will be included in an updated packet that will be published before the meeting begins. This updated packet will include an updated voting roster under item O-22 and all additional objections under item W as supplemental materials. Final information regarding all objections registered by the end of the public hearing will be published on Tuesday, February 4.
For those with questions about LID, FAQs can be found at bit.ly/LIDquestions.
Residents are welcome to testify either in person or remotely at the meeting. However, the Mayor will limit testimony time based on the number of participants. Those who wish to testify in person can sign up upon arrival at the meeting using the sign-up sheet located at the back of the Assembly Chambers. Overflow space will also be available on the second floor of City Hall for those who wish to testify in person.

To testify remotely, residents must contact the CBJ Municipal Clerk's Office at (907) 586-5278 by 4 p.m. on Monday, February 3. Failure to do so will result in not being able to testify over Zoom.
For those who only wish to watch the meeting remotely and do not intend to testify, it is recommended to use the CBJ YouTube livestream. This will help ensure that there is enough capacity for all participants on Zoom, as there is expected to be a high level of interest in this topic.
The Zoom link for the meeting is https://juneau.zoom.us/j/91515424903 and the dial-in number is 1-253-215-8782 with Meeting ID: 915 1542 4903.
