~ The City and Borough of Juneau, Alaska will be holding a public hearing on February 3, 2025 to discuss various items on the agenda. The meeting will take place at 7pm at Thunder Mountain Middle School Auditorium and will also be available for remote participation via Zoom webinar.

According to the press release, the agenda and packet material for the meeting will be posted on the CBJ website by close of business the day prior to the meeting. The public is encouraged to participate either in-person or through remote means. However, due to an expected high number of participants, a sign-up sheet will be made available for in-person attendance.

Those who wish to provide oral testimony via remote participation must notify the Municipal Clerk by 4pm on the day of the meeting and indicate which topics they wish to testify on. Comments can also be sent in advance of the meeting.

The first item on the agenda is Ordinance 2024-40, which proposes creating a Local Improvement District for HESCO Barrier Project Phase 1 and appropriating up to $7,830,000 for it. This ordinance was amended at a previous Assembly Meeting on December 16, 2024.

Another item up for discussion is Ordinance 2025-08, which authorizes the Manager to execute an agreement with Alaska Electric Light & Power Company and AJT Mining Properties Inc. for an access easement for Christopher Trail.

The third item on the agenda is Ordinance 2024-01(b)(AA), which proposes appropriating up to $100,000 from the Affordable Housing Fund as a loan to BroKo Holdings LLC for their project at 220 Front Street.

Next is Ordinance 2024-01(b)(AB), which seeks an appropriation of $5,000,000 from Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities for Aurora Harbor Improvements Capital Improvement Project.

Lastly, Ordinance 2024-01(b)(AC) proposes an appropriation of $7,520 from General Funds for a grant to Juneau Economic Development Council.

The press release also mentions that ADA accommodations are available upon request and asks individuals to contact the Clerk's office 36 hours prior to the meeting for arrangements.
