~ Starting Monday, June 2, the Dimond Park Field House will undergo a significant upgrade as a new elevator is installed. The construction is expected to last until August 31, 2025.
According to the press release from Juneau Parks & Recreation, several areas of the facility will be closed to the public during this time. These include the stairs, mezzanine, batting cage, and indoor track. The closures are necessary for the safety of visitors and workers during the construction process.
The Field House will remain open for its Turf for Tots program only and will close daily after that program ends. Additionally, the facility will be closed on weekends throughout the construction period. The Turf for Tots program will also be temporarily suspended on June 2 and 3 to allow for initial construction setup. It will resume its normal schedule on Wednesday, June 4 from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
