~ Juneau, Alaska - Due to hazardous road conditions caused by overnight snowfall, the City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) has announced a delayed start for its facilities and services on Tuesday, December 30. According to CBJ officials, all facilities will open at 12 p.m.
The delayed start affects several CBJ facilities, including all Juneau Public Libraries locations and all Juneau Parks & Recreation facilities. The Dimond Park Field House, Dimond Park Aquatic Center, Augustus G. Brown Pool, and Floyd Dryden Gym will open at 12 p.m., while Treadwell Arena will open at 12:30 p.m. Unfortunately, the Preschool Open Gym at Mount Jumbo Gym has been cancelled. However, the Shéiyi X̱aat Hit Youth Shelter will remain open.

In addition to these facilities, City Hall, the CBJ Permit Center and all CBJ offices will also open at 12 p.m.
Capital Transit is still operating on winter routes and residents are encouraged to visit juneaucapitaltransit.org for more information.
CBJ officials are urging residents to exercise caution and limit driving until road conditions improve. They also want to thank the community for their patience and partnership during this ongoing snow event.
