AkGlobe News/10087928

The City and Borough of Juneau's Emergency Operations Center reports one new Juneau resident with COVID-19. Public Health is attributing the new resident case to secondary transmission, which means the individual got COVID-19 from a known contact. Public Health has initiated a contact investigation, and will notify and quarantine additional individuals as appropriate.

Since June 26, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) has been reporting two out-of-state deaths to Juneau. DHSS has determined that one of the individuals who died from COVID-19 was actually a resident of another state. The case is no longer being counted by Alaska and has been removed from both the state's raw data and the state dashboard case counts and death total.
