~ Juneau Launches Task Force to Address Short-Term Rentals and Housing Availability
The City & Borough of Juneau has taken a proactive step towards addressing the impact of short-term rentals (STRs) on housing availability in the city. A new task force has been launched to investigate the issue and recommend improvements.
Comprised of Assembly members and members of the public representing various community interests, the task force will be active for approximately five months. Its main objective is to review existing data on short-term rentals and housing, gather feedback from the community through public meetings and written submissions, and explore different regulatory approaches to STRs with a focus on long-term housing availability and affordability.
