~ Juneau, Alaska - The City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) has announced that all of its facilities will be closed on Tuesday, January 6 due to hazardous road and weather conditions. In light of the ongoing hazardous conditions, CBJ is urging all residents to stay off the roads for their own safety as well as the safety of others. This will also allow snow removal teams to work efficiently and safely. CBJ staff will continue to provide services remotely wherever possible.
The closure affects all CBJ facilities and offices, including the Juneau Public Libraries locations, the Juneau Douglas City Museum, and all Parks & Recreation facilities such as the Dimond Park Field House, Dimond Park Aquatic Center, Augustus G. Brown Pool, Treadwell Arena, and the Zach Gordon Youth Center. However, Shéiyi X̱aat Hit Youth Shelter will remain open.
