~ At a Special Assembly Meeting held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, the City and Borough of Juneau Assembly announced several appointments to key positions within the community. The meeting was conducted via Zoom Webinar due to ongoing safety concerns.
The first appointments were made to the Bartlett Regional Hospital (BRH) Board. Hal Geiger and Deborah Johnston were both reappointed for another term, while Brent Tingey was newly appointed. All three will serve on the board from January 1, 2025 until December 31, 2027. Additionally, Chris Letterman was appointed for a term beginning immediately and ending on December 31, 2025.

In regards to the Planning Commission, Hans 'Erik' Petersen and Matthew Bell were both reappointed for another term starting on January 1, 2025 and ending on December 31, 2027. Douglas Salik was also appointed to the commission for the same term.
The Assembly expressed their gratitude towards Dr. Lindy Jones for his two terms of service on the BRH Board and Travis Arndt for his two terms on the Planning Commission. They also thanked all individuals who submitted applications for consideration.
The City and Borough of Juneau has a number of boards, commissions, and committees with vacant seats that are filled on a rotational basis. Interested individuals can find a current list of vacancies and application forms on the CBJ website or by contacting the Municipal Clerk's Office at (586)5278 or via email at clerk@juneau.org.
