~ During a virtual Special Assembly Meeting held on Wednesday evening, the City and Borough of Juneau Assembly announced several appointments to various boards within the city. The meeting, which took place via Zoom webinar, saw the Assembly filling positions on the Airport Board, Docks & Harbors Board, and Eaglecrest Ski Area Board.
For the Airport Board, the Assembly reappointed David Epstein and appointed Michael Neussl to full terms that will run from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029. Additionally, Jordan Kesler was appointed to an unexpired term beginning on July 1, 2026 and ending on June 30, 2028. Jerry Godkin was also reappointed to finish out a current appointment that will end on June 30, 2027. Nolan Davis was reappointed to the Airport Tenant Liaison seat for a one-year term beginning immediately and ending on June 30, 2027.
On the Docks & Harbors Board, Shem Sooter and Thomas 'Tyler' Emerson were both reappointed while Steve Box was newly appointed. All three will serve full terms from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029.

The Eaglecrest Ski Area Board also saw some changes as Kevin Krein was reappointed and Sandy Hussain was newly appointed for full terms running from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029. Sean O'Neill was also reappointed to an unexpired term beginning immediately and ending on June 30, 2027.
The Assembly expressed their gratitude towards outgoing members of these boards including Dennis Bedford and Jeff Redmond from the Airport Board, Clayton Hamilton from the Docks & Harbors Board, and Hannah Shively from the Eaglecrest Ski Area Board for their service. They also thanked all members of the community who submitted applications for consideration.
For those interested in serving their community, there are open and upcoming seats on various boards including the Board of Equalization, Historic Resources Advisory Committee, Juneau Commission on Sustainability, Juneau Human Rights Commission, Systemic Racism Review Committee, Utility Advisory Board, and Youth Activities Board.
