Juneau: Augustus Brown Pool To Host Four Dog Day Sessions April 2

~ On Sunday, April 2, the Augustus G. Brown Swimming Pool will be hosting four sessions of Dog Day canine swims. This event is free and sponsored by Grateful Dogs of Juneau. Registration for the event opens online on the Parks & Rec registration catalog under the Juneau Pools tab at 8 a.m. Friday, March 17.

The Dog Day at AGB will include two sessions for small dogs and two sessions for medium/big dogs, each limited to 40 registrants. Two humans may accompany each dog into the facility, however humans are not allowed in the water. The session times are as follows: 1:45 – 2:45 p.m., 5:15 – 6:15 p.m., 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., and 3:30 – 4:30 p.m., respectively for medium/big dogs and small dogs weighing less than 35 lbs.

In order to participate in this event, all dogs must have up-to-date rabies and DHPP vaccinations and must be 16 weeks or older due to vaccination requirements. During registration, participants will be asked to provide their dog's 2023 CBJ license number which is located at the bottom of their dog's tag. Dogs with a history of aggression towards other dogs or humans should not register for this event as it is meant to be a safe environment for all participants involved.

Dog Day at AGB is part of a series of events celebrating AGB's 50th anniversary serving the Juneau community before it closes for major renovations in early 2024 in preparation for a new era of Juneau swimmers.
