Juneau: Assembly To Hold Public Hearing on Registration Program for Short-term Rentals
AkGlobe News/10242487

~ The Juneau Assembly is set to hold a public hearing at its June 12 Regular Assembly Meeting on a proposed registration program for short-term rental operators. This comes after an update on the use of short-term rentals in Juneau was presented at the March 1 Finance Committee meeting.

The update identified several challenges in communicating with rental operators, ensuring fair and equitable sales tax compliance, and measuring the role of short-term rentals in the city economy. As a result, CBJ staff are recommending a no-cost registration requirement for short-term rental operators to provide better information to the Assembly and community on the use of short-term rentals in Juneau.
