~ During a Special Assembly Meeting held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 via Zoom Webinar, the City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) Assembly announced several appointments to the Bartlett Regional Hospital (BRH) Board and the Planning Commission.
For the BRH Board, the Assembly reappointed Max Mertz, Chris Letterman, and John Raster MD to full terms beginning January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2028. In addition, Jeannie Monk and Dorothy Hernandez MD were appointed to unexpired term seats on the Board starting January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2026.
In regards to the Planning Commission, Carlee Simon, Keith Koruna and Karinne Wiebold were appointed to full terms beginning January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2028.

The Assembly expressed their gratitude to outgoing BRH Board members Kenny Solomon-Gross and Richelle (Shelly) Deering for their service. They also thanked outgoing Planning Commissioners Adam Brown, Nina Keller and David Epstein for their contributions.
The CBJ would like to acknowledge all individuals who submitted applications for consideration and their willingness to serve. The city currently has a number of boards, commissions and committees with vacant seats on a rotational basis. Interested individuals can find a list of current vacancies along with application forms at juneau.org/clerk/boards-committees.
