~ As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, the City and Borough of Juneau has announced that several offices and facilities will be closed on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29. This includes City Hall offices, the Juneau-Douglas City Museum, Zach Gordon Youth Center, Dimond Park Field House, and all Juneau Public Library branches.
In addition to these closures, there are also changes to the operating schedules of other services and facilities. Capital Transit will not be in service on Thanksgiving Day but will resume full service on Friday. For more information about routes and schedules, individuals can visit juneaucapitaltransit.org or contact Capital Transit directly.
For those looking to stay active during the holiday weekend, Dimond Park Aquatic Center will be open from 7-10 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day and from 12 p.m.-4 p.m. on Friday. However, Augustus G. Brown Swimming Pool will be closed both days.

RecycleWorks will also be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will reopen to the public on Friday. The Household Hazardous Waste facility will have an extended closure from Thursday through Saturday and will reopen on Monday, December 2.
The Shéiyi X̱aat Hít Youth Shelter, also known as Spruce Root House Youth Shelter, will remain open throughout the holidays for those in need of shelter.
Treadwell Arena will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will open to the public on Friday. Families can also look forward to Treadwell's annual Santa Skate event at 7 p.m. on Friday – more information can be found on the online calendar.
