The shelter will be open for use on a first-come, first-served basis for the remainder of the summer season. Reservations for its use will begin this fall. This project was made possible through the joint efforts of the Rotary Clubs of Juneau - including Juneau Rotary, Juneau-Gastineau Rotary, Glacier Valley Rotary, and 58° Innovators - who select an annual project to benefit the community. The opportunity for this project was identified through the CBJ Parks & Recreation Master Plan.

The completion of this shelter was made possible by over 40 dedicated Rotary volunteers and generous donations from various organizations including Alaska Marine Lines, Benito and Frances Gaguine Foundation, Icy Straits Lumber, Juneau Community Foundation, Juneau Parks Foundation, Juneau Rotary Clubs, and Rotary District 5010. This new addition to Fish Creek Park is sure to enhance outdoor recreation opportunities for residents and visitors alike.
