A ribbon ~ Juneau residents can look forward to diving back into the refreshing waters of Augustus G. Brown Swimming Pool as it reopens after 11 months of extensive renovations. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, open to all members of the community, will take place on Friday, March 1 at 2 p.m.

The pool, also known as AGB Pool, has undergone major improvements including a resurfaced leisure pool, remodeled locker rooms, new plumbing and aquatic systems, and a new boiler. These renovations aim to make the facility more accessible, energy-efficient and user-friendly for swimmers in the Juneau area.

The ceremony will feature speeches from Juneau Mayor Beth Weldon, Parks & Recreation Director George Schaaf and Aquatics Manager Terra Patterson. Additionally, Goldbelt Heritage will perform a cleansing ceremony to mark the reopening of the pool. Following the ceremony, members of the public are invited to take a tour of the facility and see the improvements firsthand.
