Fairbanks: City Engineer, Robert Pristash, Awarded Engineer of the Year by NSPE-AK

https://www.fairbanksalaska.us/sites/default/fi...">On Friday, February 24th the National Society of Public Engineers - Alaska, Fairbanks Chapter presented the 2022 Engineer of the Year Award to City Engineer Bob Pristash.  Bob is a long-time Fairbanks resident who graduated from UAF in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.  He received his Alaska P.E. License in 1999 and continues to be actively licensed to date.  His experience and drive as an engineer, mentor, planner, supervisor, and most importantly, communicator in the engineering and construction industry are the forefront of a larger list of why Bob was nominated for this award.

Bob has been a dynamo at the City of Fairbanks Engineering Department for over 35 years, spearheading public construction projects and capital improvement initiatives, setting and maintaining City design and construction standards to ensure that infrastructure meets current safety and functional requirements, and successfully accomplishing a myriad of significant public enhancements for our community.

Bob's positive impact on the public, willingness to share his knowledge to make his peers into better engineers, and to teach by example for the good of the public, is among the many reasons has was selected for the Engineer of the Year award.
