Juneau seniors (age 65 and up) and healthcare workers have the opportunity to get a COVID-19 vaccine during a clinic January 15, 16, and 17 at Centennial Hall. Vaccinations are by appointment only. Appointments can be made starting Monday, January 11, at 12 p.m. on juneau.org/vaccine. At that time, the public will be able to access direct links to schedule appointments for each day. The public is encouraged to sign up online if possible; those who are unable to sign up online can call 586-6000 to make an appointment starting January 11 at 12 p.m. The vaccine clinic is organized by the City and Borough of Juneau, Bartlett Regional Hospital, and Juneau Public Health Center.

The clinic will distribute about 1,100 doses of the Pfizer vaccine over the three days. People who make an appointment for the clinic must be available for a second dose at Centennial Hall February 5-7.

CBJ anticipates appointments filling up quickly. If you are not able to get an appointment for January 15-17, do not worry. Additional clinics will be held as more vaccine becomes available. In time, every Juneau resident age 65 and older who wants a COVID-19 vaccine will get one. The January 15-17 clinic will not be able to accommodate homebound seniors, but this option will be available in the future.

Each appointment will take about 25 minutes. People with appointments should bring an ID to the clinic and arrive no earlier than five minutes before their scheduled time. After checking in and getting the vaccine, you'll be monitored for 15 minutes for any adverse reactions. Appointments for the second vaccine dose will be made while you're at the clinic. Everyone at the clinic is required to wear a mask. There is no cost for the vaccine or for the administration of the vaccine.
