CBJ reports three new COVID-19 cases in Juneau

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting three new Juneau residents with COVID-19. Public Health is attributing one of the cases to secondary transmission and two are under investigation. The secondary case is linked to the August social gathering, bringing that cluster total to 35 so far.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 255 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 98 nonresidents. There are 36 active cases in Juneau and 316 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There are currently three people with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

CBJ is in regular contact with the Public Health officials in Juneau, and CBJ's numbers are based on information received directly from them.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reports 52 new people with COVID-19 – 50 are residents and two are nonresidents. Alaska has had 6,444 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 921 nonresidents.stats
