The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting three additional residents identified with COVID-19 in Juneau – two of the cases are new and one is an older case previously unreported. Public Health is attributing one of the new cases to secondary transmission and the other new case is under investigation.
Cumulatively, Juneau has had 988 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 125 nonresidents. There are 15 active cases in Juneau and 1,093 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There are currently two people with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.
Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) today reports 341 new people identified with COVID-19 – 333 are residents and eight are nonresidents. The state also reports two recent deaths – a male Fairbanks resident in his 70s and a male Anchorage resident in his 60s – bringing the total number of resident deaths to 227. Alaska has had 49,535 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 1,622 nonresidents.

According to DHSS, 1,925 people in the Juneau region have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine – either Pfizer or Moderna – and 575 have completed both doses. Statewide, 39,367 people have received their first dose and 10,424 have completed both doses.
