The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting 16 new residents with COVID-19 in Juneau. Public Health is attributing four of the cases to secondary transmission and the rest are under investigation.
One of the secondary cases is an individual at the University of Alaska Southeast, bringing that cluster total to eight – six cases are active and two have recovered. One of the students with an active case is no longer in Juneau. CBJ's EOC conducted 35 tests at UAS on Tuesday; this latest case in the cluster was the only positive case from the batch.
Cumulatively, Juneau has had 696 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 110 nonresidents. There are 72 active cases in Juneau and 730 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There is currently one person with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services today reports 505 new people with COVID-19 – 500 are residents and five are nonresidents. The state also reported a new death – a male Anchorage resident in his 40s – bringing the total number of resident deaths to 100. Alaska has had 24,909 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 1,172 nonresidents.
