CBJ reports 14 new COVID-19 cases in Juneau

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting 14 new individuals identified with COVID-19 in Juneau – nine are residents and five are nonresidents. Of the resident cases, Public Health is attributing three to secondary transmission, one to community spread, and five are under investigation. All five nonresidents are in the mining sector. Public Health attributes three cases to secondary transmission and two are under investigation.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 1,221 residents test positive for COVID-19 and 152 nonresidents. There are 25 active cases in Juneau and 1,343 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) reports 223 new people identified with COVID-19 – 217 are residents and six are nonresidents. Alaska has had 61,695 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 2,608 nonresidents.

Vaccine information

According to DHSS, as well as data reported from the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, 15,687 people in Juneau have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 10,965 have completed their vaccine series.

Statewide, 249,252 people have received their first dose, according to DHSS, and 189,103 are fully vaccinated.stats
