CBJ reports 10 new COVID-19 cases in Juneau

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting 10 new residents with COVID-19 in Juneau. Public Health is attributing four cases to secondary transmission, one to community spread, and the rest are under investigation.

Of the new cases, four cases are linked to other cases among Juneau's vulnerable/unsheltered population, bringing that cluster total to 73 so far. The cluster includes family members, friends, individuals who work for a social service organization, and those who live with someone who works for one of these agencies. Within the cluster, 39 cases are active and 34 have recovered.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 426 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 104 nonresidents. There are 75 active cases in Juneau and 452 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There are currently four people with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services today reports 242 new people with COVID-19 – 239 are residents and three are nonresidents. Alaska has had 12,118 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 1,043 nonresidents.
