The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is lowering the overall community risk to Level 1 Minimal. Community spread cases are still occurring, but the number of COVID-19 cases has dropped compared to previous weeks, and hospital and public health capacities are at manageable levels.
The community risk level is being lowered thanks in large part to the carefulness and diligence of Juneau residents. It's important not to undo all the hard work we've put in to keep our neighbors safe. The EOC urges community members – including individuals who've received the COVID-19 vaccine – to continue practicing the same protective measures that have helped reduce the number of COVID-19 cases. Continue to wear a mask (as required by CBJ ordinance), keep your social bubble small, adhere to travel testing protocols (as required by CBJ ordinance), avoid indoor gatherings, and wash your hands.

CBJ still has an emergency declaration in place and continues to closely follow information on COVID-19 variants in Alaska and around Southeast.
The following mitigation strategies are effective 12:01 a.m. Thursday, February 18:
- Indoor gatherings are limited to 100 people with safety measures (masks and appropriate social distancing required), unless a COVID-19 mitigation plan is submitted and approved by the CBJ Emergency Operations Center.
- Masks must be worn indoors in public areas. Masks are recommended when outdoors and 6 feet of distance can't be maintained. Keep 6 feet of distance from non-household members and keep your social bubble small.
- Travelers arriving from outside Alaska without proof of a negative COVID-19 test are required to test at the airport and strict social distance for 5 days. See detailed travel information here.
- Bars and restaurants should follow the State of Alaska's "Reopen Alaska Responsibly Phase III/IV Guidance," including limiting capacity to maintain 6 feet minimum distance between families/bubbles. Masks are required unless actively eating or drinking. Delivery and curbside pickup at restaurants are still encouraged.
- Personal Services and gyms should follow the State of Alaska's "Reopen Alaska Responsibly Phase III/IV Guidance." Masks are required.
